Socks

This summer I am trying to catch up on my knitting. My New Year's Resolution was to knit one sock a month so that I would have 6 pairs of socks by the end of the year. So far, I am about a week ahead of my goal. I don't have as much time as I would like to knit during the school year, so I try to make good use of vacations. Here are two pairs that I have knitted so far. I gave one pair to my mother, who loves everything I make!
These socks are 80% alpaca.

Simple Pleasures

We have so much wildlife around our house even though it is not a rural area.  Daily we see many birds at the birdfeeder, squirrels, rabbits, an occasional coyote, evidence of voles in the garden, and ducks that wander into the yard, and an osprey flying to a nearby pond.  We even saw a redtail hawk swoop down from a tree to catch a small squirrel!
This summer we saw something we don't usually see.  I turned on the deck light to go outside just after dark one evening, and there on the deck railing, looking directly at me, were two owls!  I was really surprised.  Fortunately they stayed long enough for Pete to see them too, but we did not have time to get a picture.  Every so often, I turn on the light in the early evening hoping they will return.

Visiting Family

This is Brady, welcoming us on our last trip to Holly's
These are names of all family we will visit
I love to visit family during the summer.  This summer we will go to PA  to visit my husband's family, and GA to visit my family.  It will be hotter than on Cape Cod, but there is lots of air conditioning!

Summer Garden

Thanks to my gardener (my husband Pete) we are enjoying vegetables from our summer garden.  Tonight we cooked a huge pot of swiss chard.  It was delicious!  We have been picking lettuce, radishes, onions, brocolli, rhubarb, and a few peas.  This is the first year we have tried brocolli.  It is delicious!

Picture This

I am finally successful at adding a picture of myself.  I am learning new things from this course slowly but surely.

Tuesday

Today I am learning how to add my picture from my camera.

I added this picture of swans in Vineyard Sound, but it wasn't the picture of me that I intended to use.
